This is our 16th day of Jalin's Journey-
Jalin's first night out of the Trauma room was kinda Ok- There was alot of emotion, and jitters being in the room without constant care. They did not get to sleep until around 2 am. Jalin has had a pretty busy day so far. The doctors took 2 tubes out, she had her bath, xray's and she has had a temp. She has eaten very little but we are hoping her appetite will come. She still has 2 tubes in the top of her lungs and we are awaiting the results of the ct scan tommorow. Please pray that her lungs are clear enough and the tubes have done the trick. Oh we are Praying!
Right now Jalin is not up for any company, she is more alert and trying to sort all the pieces together of the wreck. She is having flashbacks of that terrible night. Lori and I are trying to help her with this. Thank you for your prayers.

ReplyDeleteThanks so much for the update on Jalin today. It is so thougtful that you let us know always how she is doing. We wait to hear. Know that we share every triumph and setback with you. My heart breaks that she is having such memories of the accident. I know Lori's hope was that she wouldn't. No one should have to remember that. We can fix the physical pain, but the pain from the memories is what is the hardest to help with. I know. I wish I could wipe it away. I pray for strenghth for ya'll. I pray strength for Jalin. I pray strength for all the girls. Tell Jalin we love her and keep fighting.

Jalin it is so good to hear how good your doing. I also heard that the nurse had to take your cell phone away. LOL!!!!! I know dealing with the wreck can be frightening, but God had a purpose for this and only he knows. We will understand one day when we can actually talk to him face to face. I am looking so foward to that day, aren't you? You have touched so many lives even mine. My love for the Lord has gotten so strong through this and I just want to shout it from the mountain top. There will be no more pain, aches, or being frighten. It will be glorious, and with so much beauty. Your lungs will overcome. Look at how far you've come. God is still holding your hand and he'll never let go.

Great News! Have peace with knowing that Jalin doesn't need the monitors anymore. It is hard to give that up when you've spent every day - every minute looking at all the vitals. They would not take her off if they didn't feel that she would be okay w/out them. Have peace, keep the faith and stay strong.

We were just up from the gulf shores last Sunday, I tell you the church felt so empty without you. ReplyDeleteHello! My name is Holly Benefield. You don't know me, but I know you through the school and my wonderful children: Chris, Tina, and Stephanie. We are keeping you and your family in our prayers. I just want to share a small part of my experience with you. At thirteen years old, I was in an awful car accident also. I had some head injuries and internal bleeding. I received two units of blood. I was in a coma for a week. I still have some problems due to the accident, but praise God I lived and have had three wonderful children and the best husband in the world. The Lord has truly blessed me as I know He will bless you. Yes I missed a lot of school during my recovery also. I was so embarrassed. My head was shaved on one side and I was wearing braces for my broken collar bone. Due to the brain damage I lost a lot of memory and had to go to a private Christian school until I could get back to the ninth grade level I was suppose to be at. It was a long, hard road but well worth it. I was headed down the wrong road before that accident. After that accident, I found God!!!!! What could be greater than that? It was not an easy road, but I look back now and I see that there was a purpose for all of it. It took that accident for me to learn about God!!!
Thank God for your parents!!!! I did not have that kind of support. Your Mom is incredible and so is your Dad. Tell them Thank you for the example they have set for all parents.

Good Morning Jalin!!! I always like to see what everyone has written to you each morning and your Granny sent you the most heartfelt message last night. I'm praying right now that today is a day of renewal, rest, and progress. Do you feel loved? You should, there are so many out there praying for you, wishing they could do something specifically for you, wearing yellow bracelets that say "He Knows Her Name", wearing yellow ribbons, your name is on many church signs around town, everywhere I go people are asking about you, the kids in Word of Life are lifting you up in prayer, the school has had special prayer for you, and I'm sure there is so much more going on you'll never know. But you should know that God LOVES you, unconditionally, and His desire is to see you ministering to others in His name, glorifying the Son, leading others to Him - guess what - YOU ARE!!! ReplyDeletePraise God the doctors are not going to do the surgery. We all know who the Great Physician is and in the future the doctors will be amazed that the pelvis & collarbone healed perfectly on their own.
Jalin you are such a miracle and God continues to amaze me as heals you and uses this horrorable attack of satan for His glory. So many lives have been changed and will continue to be changed through this.
As Ms Lori said, you have been such a trooper but I knew you would, you are so strong and determined in everything you do. Hang in there girl, God has amazing things in store for you. I LOVE YOU and will continue to pray without ceasing, Tina.
