Day 58- Christmas Day 2008

Well, Jalin's Journey has been quite an eye-opener for all of us. I think we have learned that prioritizing God should be on the top of our list for the New Year. I think we have realized that the Sovereignty of God is what has got us all through thus far. His deity shows us that He is Omnipotent (All Powerful), Omniscient, (All Knowing), and Omnipresent,(Everywhere). He really does love us, and is able to do all things.

Jalin has come a long way in the last 58 days. She is beginning to get out a little more. She has been to Church, the basketball games, and a few days ago she actually did a little shopping with some of her "bestus friends". In fact, I believe we had church at the Verizon Store in the mall! Wow! She has been reduced to one shot a day, and now she is manuevering alot in the wheelchair by herself. Please pray. She still gets frustrated with her inability to do things by her self. Her foot pain has been reduced to a minimum-Praise be to God! Our next venture to Birmingham will be on Jan 8th with the Orthopedic surgeon who performed her surgery. This whole episode in our lives has been a lot to swallow, but I know God is going to be glorified for it all. Please be praying for all the opportunities that will be unfolding in 2009 to share God's power of protection. Prayerfully Jalin will be sharing some of her story March 21st at our "Come Together" Youth Crusade - featuring Decemberadio Band- Hillcrest Praise Band- We will be sharing Jalin's Journey -May we all be intentional about gathering the Harvest for His Kingdom! I love you guys and pray great empowerment over your lives for the way you have ministered to my family. Merry Christmas and Hey!! -Happy New Year!

Day 47-Sunday, December 14, 2008

Hi Everyone,
Sorry we haven't written a post in a while. We have been busy surviving! Well, today is our 23rd wedding anniversary. Wow! Time flies. I am thankful for Darryl and our children. I have been blessed beyond measure. When Darryl and I married this time 23 years ago, I would never have dreamed we would be a minister's family serving the Lord in Alabama. LOL! We didn't even know the Lord back then. God has been so very good and gracious to us. Our journey just keeps getting sweeter (sometimes much more difficult, but sweeter).

Thank you again for your prayers. Jalin still struggles with the pain in her left foot. It is in constant pain and burns continuously. Mostly during the day she tolerates it, but at night and early morning she cries with the pain. Jalin and I didn't get to church this morning. She is so nauseous in the morning from the pain meds. We pray that we can go tonight to see our kid's Christmas drama. It starts at 6:00 Ga time, if you can make it. I hear it is incredible!

Remember there are 12 days until Christmas. Count your blessings and focus on Jesus! We love each of you! Merry Christmas!
Love,
Lori

Day 41 - December 8th- Evening

Jalin's Journey has inspired me to look at Christmas in a whole new perspective. You know, we get to running so hard at times, we neglect to notice things that are really the most important. I really and truly want all of you to get the jist of what my heart is saying- I want you to be filled with the Christmas Spirit! If you take the time to look at Luke Chapter 2, you will see the Bible come alive with some monumental truths. #1 Christmas is about Family. Notice that Jesus was born into a family, (Luke 2: 4-6) Mary & Joseph and Baby Jesus- Jesus could have entered this world any way He pleased- 3, 5 , 15 even 33 years of age- He could have just appeared through a wall! but He did not for a reason to show all of us the value of family. Don't give up on your family. #2 Christmas is about Friends, God sent this family, friends on to the scene- the shepherds made hast and came(Luke 2: 16) -Remember to have friends, you must first be a friend. #3 - Christmas is about finance- Yes it is about giving- The Wise Men brought gold, frankincense, and myrrh. I'm not saying go load up in debt but you can give something to those you love, start out with a little gift of your time and concern. #4 - Christmas is about faith- Mary had faith, Joseph had faith, the shepherds had faith, the wise men had faith - What kind of faith drives you! It is impossible to please God without faith.

Jalin has had an incredible day! Our faith in a Sovereign, powerful God has been increased! Remember He loves you and He gave all of us the very best gift we could ever imagine! He gave us The Christ in Christmas- Thank you all again for the love you have shown me and my family. We will love you 4-ever! Merry Christmas! Can I hear a big A-Men!

Day 39-December 6, 2008

Hello Everyone,

Jalin and I are lying around on the couch today (it's a lazy Saturday) watching the DVD from the Praise and Worship night from October 31st. It begins much like a funeral or wake, because that night we had no idea what to expect from Jalin's life. Praise God today, some 37 or so days later,
we are rejoicing about Jalin's life, as well as the other four girls' lives. God worked a miracle in all of them. Thank you Jesus! We stand amazed at what you did in this city and what you are continuing to do here. Thank you Jesus for protecting those girls and saving them from tragedy. Thank you Lord for all of our friends and loved ones! Each of you and your prayers have strengthened us and moved our Lord to protect our girls. HOW GREAT IS OUR GOD!!!!!!

Please continue to pray for Jalin's healing, specifically her left foot that has the bruised nerve. She has about 56 more days of not bearing weight on her legs. We go back to the ortho group January 8, 2009. Pray for her to be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might!

We love you all,
Lori

Day 36-December 3, 2008

Hello Everyone,

We had Jalin's appointments at UAB today. It was a long day. We were gone about nine hours! The Ortho surgeon group said that the pain in her left foot could be caused by the screws, but probably it is the nerve waking up and recovering from trauma. He showed her a couple of exercises to do and said to give the medication more time to work. He was pleased with her xrays of the pelvis area. The other appointment was with the trauma group. This doctor explained more to us about the nerve and the fact that it could be bruised. It takes more time to heal, and she must be patient. He prescribed her another med to help with relieving the nerve pain. It is no quick fix, however, the nerve has no pain receptors and meds just will not take the pain away like a bone or muscle. It is trial and error to see which meds each person's body might respond to. We are trying the new one now. This doc had fallen off a roof in his past and was able to ease our minds about the recovery of trauma and what to expect. We must be patient as her body heals. All of her wounds look good and are healing well. It was a good report, but not really satisfying for Jalin. She wants the pain gone and wants to get up and walk around. She still has 60 days of not allowing weight on her legs. She is a miracle! We just need prayer for her to allow God to heal her completely, even if it is not on our time frame. He knows what He is doing! His mercies never fail!
Please keep lifting her up!
We love each one of you,
Lori

Day 33-November 30,2008

Hello Everyone,
Today was a glorious Lord's Day! We finally got to go to church for the first time in a month! It was awesome! We were so happy to see our church family, we have missed them so much! Thank you for your prayers for Jalin. She is such a miracle! Who would think that Jalin would have come so far in four weeks to make it back to church, and even play the piano and sing! God is so good! Church was wonderful! We loved seeing everyone! Thank you for welcoming us back with open arms! Hope to see you again soon. After church Jalin had to take a long nap. She was worn out and her foot was causing a lot of pain. Please pray specifically for her left foot. The nerves are healing and it burns, tingles, and hurts so much. Besides her foot, she is healing miraculously! We go to UAB Wednesday for a check up. We are praying for everything to be healed. Thanks again for your prayers and the love you send our way. This blog has given me much needed strength!
We love you,
Lori and family

Day 29-Wednesday, November 26, 2008

Hello Everyone,
Well it is Thanksgiving Eve, and I have so much to be thankful for. If I started counting my many blessings now, we would be here all month possibly. The top of my blessing list would definately be all of you. Your comments, calls, texts, emails, visits, prayers, gifts, food, and thoughts have been so humbling to our family. Your outpouring of love has inspired us to get up each morning and continue in this trial that we are in. Thank you all from the bottom of our hearts for your love and concern. My thanks seem very inadequate to tell you how grateful we are for all of you.
Jalin is getting stronger each day. She has had a great two days! She is healing and feels much better. We even took a trip to Bowdon yesterday. Her first outing in a while. I think we wore her out though just driving in the car. Please keep up your prayers. We cherish them. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving tomorrow and know how much we love you, and how thankful we are for you all! See most of you Sunday at church (Lord willing)!
We love you,
Lori and family

Day 27- Monday November 24

,Good Morning Friends,
How do you handle what is handling you? A great question (huh)? Through Jalin's Journey, through the tears, and through the triumphs, God has taught us some valuable lessons of life. On behalf of Jalin and the rest of my family, I am deeply grateful for all of you. Your prayers, concerns, and acts of kindness have certainly been great Doctor's medicine for all of us. Jalin is such a miracle! God has spared her life and has given her great passion for the days ahead. She has an appointment wed week at UAB. She is growing stronger physically, spiritually, and emotionally more and more every day. Last night I laid down with my daughter, and we just talked. We talked about the whole experience. We talked about the wreck, the protection of the other girls, the journals, the miracles, the out-pouring of love, the blog, and the purpose of God! We both agreed, could it be that God allowed this to happen to speak to you (our readers)? How are you handling what is handling you? Problems with Finance, Problems with Fellowship, Problems with Family(Relationships with your children, your spouse, etc.) Problems with Frality (Health). The tragedies of life. God is speaking! There have been so many touched; so many even warned! Please pray for our Ministry as we attempt to aid in this area of concern. There are a lot of hurting people that are allowing Satan to steal their joy! That's not God's plan for you! We are planning to bring the heart of God this Sunday at Freedom. May God Be Exalted!
Thank you Lord for the greatest Thanksgiving of all!

Day 25 Saturday Morning -November 22, 2008

Good Morning To You,
I have been so busy nursing Jalin that I have not written to you lately. Jalin is getting stronger each day. Her wounds are healing nicely also. She still has a difficult time getting comfortable, and then she gets frustrated. Please continue to pray for her complete recovery. She wants to get up and walk. She wants her life of normal activities back. Pray that she will be patient and remember the Lord's mercy on her.
Your comments on this blog have truly inspired us and helped us to cope with all the struggles we are facing. Keep them coming please! We love yall, and appreciate all of your encouraging words and prayers.
Much love and thankfulness,
Lori

Day 24 - Friday Morning November 21

Good Morning,
It is so great to be back home. Honestly, I never knew how much we all seem to take for granted. Yesterday was tough and I can't imagine what it is like not to be able to walk or turn over by yourself or simply not being able to sit up on your own. Jalin has been frustrated with all that. She wants her normal life back so bad. She is a very with it girl and she has been knocked down (But not for the count). In the days ahead I believe she will begin to be more mobile and feel less pain, but for now she is in a phyical and emotional place most of us have never been. Please continue to petition God on her behalf praying specifically for her wounds and her pains. Thank you again for giving her love and time to heal.

Day 22- Wed Evening - November 19th

Good Evening,
Jalin was dismissed from the Hospital today around noon. "Yeah"! Jordan escorted us all the way home. The ride went well dispite the cram packed car. We recieved one huge welcome from Ranburne High School & Elementary School. The Hospital staff hated for us to go. Our 9th floor Church was saddened but excited. Meanwhile at home, Students, Staff, Teachers, Administration crowded around the track at the school as we paraded Jalin in a victory Ride. (Way to go guys!) Our family was so touched by the outpouring of love and encoraging chants of JALIN, JALIN. We are so glad to be back in Ranburne Alabama. Friends, words can not express the feelings I have in my heart for all of you. I know that our Lord is smiling as well, at the way you have adored his children and one another. You will never know this side of heaven the way that God has protected you for your acts of kindness. Jalin has done well today and she is so glad she is home. Please pray as we transition into this temporary life adjustment. The hard part for her is that she can not walk, and she has been instructed to stay off any load bearing positions for 10 more weeks. That is tough for her. She still has cuts and wounds from all the trauma and I have to give her two shots a day. That's faith from Jalin- huh. Thank you all for allowing our family to rest today. I know soon - we are going to throw a PARTY! Yeah!

Nite Nite!
Pastor Darryl - Mark 5:19 Meditate on His word

P.S. - Tonight - We rolled Jalin in front of the Piano - and she played with passion a few minutes of - "This is the air I breathe" Heaven came down! She says God is inspiring her to write a Song!
Looking Forward to the days ahead! Please continue to Worship and Praise Our Lord! He is our everything!

Day 21 - Tuesday Evening- November 18

What a Grand and Glorious God we serve! "I Wouldn't Take Nothing For My Journey Now" Honestly, I couldn't hardly sing this 3 weeks ago. But now, I know that the Lord has purposely loaded our wagon. How dare satan attack the Family Of God. There has been tons of souls saved, a multitude of I'm sorry's said, priorities for many have been re aligned. What Satan meant for harm- God will and has used for Good! I know all of you have hugged your children tighter and hurt for Jalin and our family. With that being said- We are coming home tomorrow morning. Yeah!!!!! Praise God!

The doctors have urged rest for Jalin and all of her family for the next several days. I know again if given the green light - we would be flooded with visitors(hundreds) and food and such. Y'all have done so much already! We (Doctors and Family) in the best interest of Jalin -(Emotionally and physically) are asking all of our friends and Church to please be patient with us as we unwind from this painful trauma experience. We have everything we need and I am going to be cooking myself- They say that the smell of cooking is good therapy for the home ( as long as I don't burn it huh!) I love to cook. Again, thank you for your concern and love during this time of our lives! All I know is- It Is On! "May The Redeemed Of The Lord Say So"! What a wonderful Thanksgiving Gift from God- My Family will be Home!

Day 21 - Tuesday November 18

Today: Hey guys, this is Jalin. I feel so much better than I have yet. We went and ate lunch in the cafeteria with Bro. Danny & Denise. I feel great! Maybe tomorrow we can go home. I hate being in the bed. I love getting to go out of the room and I feel like god has healed me so much. I ate chicken and brocolli pasta and drank a whole code red mountain dew and some of my coke which was about, I would say 8 oz. I feel so good and I think we are gonna go ride around more and see Jessie(My trauma Nurse). I am so excited about going home. The lady we are talking to says we can go home tomorrow and I am excited about this. I love Jesus so much! He has blessed our family more than anyone can know. I'm hoping my voice comes back a little better, and I am just excited! about everything. I will write more later. I want to thank all of you for loving me and everything you have done for me, Daddy, Mama, Jordan, Jessica, Granny & Dino. I want to thank God for saving my life.

I love you
Jalin

Day 20 Monday November 17

Praise God for this new day! Jalin's last chest tube has been removed! Please pray that her lung will continue to inflate and deflate like it is supposed to do. She also took a ride in a wheelchair this morning about 9:00! Now that was a miracle! We strolled through the unit hallways and out into the waiting area on a fieldtrip. It wore her completely out. She is back in the bed asleep with the help of her pain meds. This is a huge step toward coming home!
We thank you for all of your love and support. This blog really gives me much needed strength!
I love everyone! Jalin says, "Hi!"
Love, Lori

Day 19- Sunday Morning "The Lord's Day" November 16

Well, Jessica and I spent the night with Jalin last night. It was pretty rough. She couldn't get comfortable enough to get to sleep. The nurse gave her Benadryl, nauseau, and pain medicine in an attempt to help. She also got breathing treatments and musinex. All through the night she had to be repositioned. None of us can even begin to imagine what she has been dealing with. Jalin, we love you so much. Last night, she may have slept two hours total. This morning when dad came in she was really having a cry. After 18 days, the emotional toll has finally caught up with her. It is ok though, I believe every one of us have cried a million tears. She said she missed her church. We sang and dad preached us a mini-sermon. The doctors just came in and reduced her tube to gravity. They said if everything goes well, they will pull out the tube in the morning. The nurse said that she is going to let her sit on the side of the bed in a little while. God is shining on Jalin and putting more passion behind her story. He has taken her places that most in a lifetime will never go. There is a peace now. God is here.

Day 18- Sat Evening - November 15

Today has been for the most part a Great Day! Jalin has worked real hard at getting better. She has been sitting up and for the first time and rolled over on her stomach- After 18 days on her back- Believe me, That is a Big Victory for her. She is eating better and actually ate a bit of her favorite chicken caesar salad for supper. "Who Knows"? What is so amazing is that she had such a great day after hearing some yukky news this morning. The doctors have decided to leave her chest tube in for another couple of days. It seems after they pulled the last tube her lung fell 40% so she is still struggling with her collapsed lung. Please continue to help us move our mountain with prayer. Specifically- Please pray for Jalins lungs. Pray that they will heal without surgery. May God honor your request.

Day 17- Friday- November 14

We praise you oh Lord, Glorious Healer, the Great Physician! We are so grateful for the miracle of Jalin's healing. We know what Satan meant for harm, God meant for good! Romans 8:28 and Jer. 29:11. We have prayed (along with thousands of others) for Jalin's healing and God has richly answered our prayers. Thank you Lord for your protection over all the girls in the wreck. Thank you Lord for Tanner and UAB that took care of Jalin (also the transport teams). Thank you for fantastic doctors, nurses, and assistants who worked on Jalin. Thank you family, church family, and friends for all of your love, support, and prayers for us! We are so humbled by the enormous outpouring of love. As Darryl would say, "Ain't God good?!" (sorry English students-that was not proper grammar-lol).
We rejoice that Jalin is healing and doing so well. We are so grateful that the ortho surgeons decided not to make Jalin have the 2 other surgeries. On both areas, they feel the risks outweigh the benefits of surgically mending her front pelvic and her collar bone. God will mend them completely and without any complications for the future. We are confident that, "He who began a good work in her, will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ!"
I am thankful for Jalin who has been so strong and such a trooper during this whole trial. I am thankful to Darryl, Jordan, Jessica, Granny, and Dino for being right there with us. Thanks to everyone who called, prayed, thought of us, sent cards, money, or treats to us, and visited with us. We are truly blessed and thankful.
Lori

Day 16 - Thursday - November 13

This is our 16th day of Jalin's Journey-

Jalin's first night out of the Trauma room was kinda Ok- There was alot of emotion, and jitters being in the room without constant care. They did not get to sleep until around 2 am. Jalin has had a pretty busy day so far. The doctors took 2 tubes out, she had her bath, xray's and she has had a temp. She has eaten very little but we are hoping her appetite will come. She still has 2 tubes in the top of her lungs and we are awaiting the results of the ct scan tommorow. Please pray that her lungs are clear enough and the tubes have done the trick. Oh we are Praying!
Right now Jalin is not up for any company, she is more alert and trying to sort all the pieces together of the wreck. She is having flashbacks of that terrible night. Lori and I are trying to help her with this. Thank you for your prayers.

Day 15 - Wednesday, November 12

"Jalin's Journey"

Round #1 - Jesus Christ -(1) Satan - (0) (We do serve an Awesome God!!!!!!!!!) Satan is no match for Our King!

Jalin is doing so Great- Tired, Beat Up, Bruised, Weak-(Yeah) But headed in the right direction!
She has been moved into a step-down room!!!!!!!- Yeah -That's right -You are hearing me right! So much better- We have a couch/bed and Lori and I can take turns spending the night- They took alot of the wires and all off of her- She still has oxygen and IV's and 4 Chest tubes - but the annoying monitors are gone- Her Bp is great her vitals are great. A Miracle of god! Praise His Holy Name! Can you feel the excitement in my words! How Great Is Our God!

Friends, we still have a long way to go, she still has alot to overcome. The Chest Tubes, Lungs, The upcoming Pelvic & collarbone surgery set for Mon or Tue. She is very tired and this transition is quite emotional for my family and I. I want to again thank all of you for such great support thus far. (Over 400 have come and supported Mrs. Lori, Jordan and myself. You are truly loved for all have you have given to us. God is empowering me with His Word and to put it bluntly -It's On! There is no telling what God is going to do in the Days ahead! Look how He has already affected your life. We have been charged to gather the harvest! And to love one another!

Because of the situation change, Jalin's desire as well as Mrs. Lori's and myself is that we give her some time before she has any visitors. They still consider her situation intensive care, and we know all of you would love to come and celebrate our first victory. The doctors are requesting that we keep the visitors to family the next few days. They are not prepared to handle the Blitz! That's so funny! If given the green light, we could pack literally thousands into that waiting room!!! So please - Let's all take a deep breath and thank God for what He has done and in the days ahead - (As Jalin Grows stronger, we will try to let you see her! Thank you for loving us- I beg you please do not stop! Thank you for your Consideration- Victory Is Near! Nite Nite!

P.S - Please use this blog to express your love to Jalin - She will be reading about her Journey soon! I will love you 4-ever and I am praying for God to speak to you through this Test. Please feel free to share!

Day 14 - Tuesday Morning -November 11th

The last couple of days of Jalin's Journey have been the most up and down thus far. The doctors have agreed that we can stay in the trauma room with Jalin around the clock. It's kinda hard. They are blown away by the support we have had (More than 400 have come to share our burdens) the Goodies & gifts & support have been overwhelming. There are literally thousands of Churches across our Country and others praying on her behalf. We have hung cards all over her room. The doctors and staff are so blown away. Prayer has been an essential part of her stay, and the most essential for her recovery. Yesterday Morning began well, Jalin was sitting up, eating ice, talking about the accident, the ventilator was off and things were looking up. The Meds that caused her to be confused had worked their way out. It was a calmer day. They had ordered her first liquid broth. Then suddenly around 9Am things began to plunge backwards. Her breathing began to be affected. Her oxygen levels plunged and her BP was sky high. The frantic rush of staff came to her rescue. I was like, My God, My God,- How much more can we take! We ( even the nurses were shocked at the about face). Last Night around 6:30 (after x-rays and ct scan) The doctors met with Lori and I and showed us the x-rays that Jalin's Lung had collapsed further. She was experiencing a panic in breathing. She was fighting hard and not complaining. The plan was 2 fold. A possibilty that they might have to operate using a tiny video camera to go in there and repair scar tissue from the trauma in her lungs. First they wanted to see if they can relase air and such by inserting two top chest tubes. I felt so bad because earlier Jalin said that was the worse thing ever was the tubes. She said the other 3 tubes that were in her caused her to scream for hours. Now she was facing 2 more. How much more can we stand. Bottom line leading to this morning: The plan has worked thus far, Jalin had the greatest night ever- She has been at rest, peace and her vitals are excellent. They washed her hair this morning with her shampoo - a totally differnet person. She still hasn't eaten but maybe that is coming soon. The radiant light of The Lord shines on her. The tubes didn't even hurt. WoW! She still has 4 tubes in her for draining, the x-rays are looking good, The operation is still a possiblity, it depends on what happens today. Today is a greater day. Please continue to pray for my family for strength and endurance. Please pray for Jalin's lungs. She wanted me to tell you that she loved you and takes nothing for granted anymore and will never ever forget your love.

We love you,
Pastor Darryl Psalm 91

Day 12- Sunday Evening- Nov 9th

It has truly been a rollercoaster of a day. This morning at 10:00 Central, Jalin was rescued from her trial with the ventilator. They removed it, however, it has been quite an emotional day. Jalin has had a hard time coming off the sedation meds. It seems those drugs are so potent it causes patients to be confused, hostile, unsettled etc.. We have pleaded with the doctors to allow Mrs. Lori to stay in the intensive care room with her and guide her through. Mrs. Lori has been in the room with Jalin since 2:30pm and will be staying and praying over her and helping her throughout the night. Granny and Dino, Jordan, Jessica and myself will be ready to assist at demand. The problem we are facing is that the heart rate is higher and BP is higher due to anxiety and such. If Jalin fails to gain control the doctors have said it is possible that they may have to insert the ventilator again. We have accepted that but, in the name of Jesus, we will be struggling along side with Jalin to help her to get past this and remain calm. God is our Strength and our Deliverer!

Day 11 - Saturday, November 8th- Evening

How Great Is Our God! I know you all have been really praying for Jalin. God is hearing your prayers. This morning at 2:15 Am Jalin began to breathe on her own. Praise God! She is still on the ventilator, however she is controlling it instead of it controlling her. She is at the lowest setting possible. They have been aggressively trying to wean her off. Her sedation meds have been terminated and they are waiting for her to wake up. She is slowly doing that. Our prayer is that tonight or tommorrow they will take the ventilator out. If they can achieve that, they will not have to perform a trach. The focus is on the vent then they will set up the additional surgery she stands in need of. Please continue to petition Our Lord on Jalin's behalf. Thank you for the tons of goodies and visits today. We are truly blessed. The Lord is comforting us, and so are all of you.

I love you

Day 10 Friday Nov. 7 Evening

Hey Guys,

Words can't express the gratitude and praise we have for all of you. I feel like Moses did when others had to lift his arms up. Y'all have overwhelmed us with God's love. God has brought me to a place of humbleness and dependency on Him in our journey. We continue to cry out to Him in our pain. Jalin had a good day. All of her vitals are doing so well. No temp, Heart rate & BP are in line. The Ventilator is still on a controlled setting. It is still breathing for her when she is asleep. when she is awake, which has been very seldom, Jalin breathes on her own to assist. They have cut way back on the sedation meds and are now starting to cut back on the pain meds in an attempt to wean her off the Ventilator. Please specifically pray that Jalin will continue to work hard and begin breathing on her own. She has came along way and knows about her accident and condition somewhat. We know that none of this has caught God by surprise. Her life rest in his Hands. May God give all of us rest through the night. Rest assured, you are loved. Please meditate on the Word and continue to petition God on Jalin's behalf.

Pastor Darryl & Lori -Psalm 91

Day 10-November 7

Good Morning,
Jalin had a fairly calm night, except for around 3:00 A.M. She got worked up because she was scared. The nurses calmed her down and reassured her it was all ok. When Darryl and I saw her this morning at 10:30, she looked great! She smiled at her dad. Glorious Day! She had an xray and an ultrasound on her heart and lung area. Still waiting on the results of that. While Granny and I were holding Jalin's hands, she kept trying to tell us something. We asked many questions, trying to get her to answer us by shaking her head. She finally mouthed WATER! The nurse sponged her mouth and she calmed down. She communicated with us through her lips! We are still praying for the vent to come out, and her stomach to digest the nutrients they are giving her through the feeding tube. Keep lifting her up please! We love you all, and appreciate your outpouring of love.

Day 9-November 6

Jalin had a great night and today they are trying to be more aggressive with her lungs. They have reduced her settings on the ventilator and talking about removing one of the chest tubes- "Great News" She looked so much better this morning and had a great color. All the nurses and doctors have fell in love with her. She is still under the ether because every time she awakes, she wants to sit up and get out- (Such a fighter) Please continue to pray that she will be overcome the battle with her lungs and her pneumonia. This is a very hard thing to go through but God is holding our hands. Do me a favor and tell someone today, your children, your parents, your neighbors, your boss, your friends -how much you love and appreciate them. Life is so precious!

Day 8-November 5

This morning around 9 Am Jalin had a set back. Her Oxygen levels and blood pressure went down and their trauma team had to work with her lungs. They had to intensify the ventilator levels again. They had to vaccum out her lungs. However, all of her vitals are now good. Her Oxygen levels are great. Her blood pressure is better. Her heart rate is good. She is totally sedated again and hopefully will have some improvement as the day continues. Two steps forward -one step backwards. God is Our Strength- He holds her life in His hands. Mrs. Lori is being strong. For me, God is teaching me. We have emptied ourselves before Holy God. God is speaking to many in this hour. Please continue to petition God on Jalin's behalf. Pray specifically that Jalin will continue to breath on her own and be less dependent on the ventilator. That device saves lives but can cause complications. Last night she was breathing on her own. This morning totally dependent on the support. We are anticipating the Hand of God to move on her life today.

Day 7-November 4

Update-11:30 p.m.

Honestly, my heart is crying out for my little girl. It has been a rough bout tonight emotionally for Jalin and all of our family. Mrs. Lori has been strong but somewhat helpless herself. Jalin has awaken from the trauma that she has had to undergo. Everytime we go see her she gets real emotional and upset crying out to us for help. She is seemingly so scared and lonely. The doctors say the trend is quite normal. I know God is with us and with Jalin and so are all of you. I have been through many trials before in my life and seen a lot being in the Ministry, but this one has crushed my spirit. I have preached many times and even shared with Jalin "How can we really help somebody unless we have been through the fire ourselves". Now we await with great expectation! We know the "Greatness of God!" I love you and thank you for loving Jalin. I am forever grateful for you!

I love you- Thank You for all you have done.
Pastor Darryl

Hi everyone,
Jalin's surgery yesterday was a shining success. Thank you Lord! God bless Dr. Rena Stewart! Her post op was great! After surgery when we saw her, she looked radiant! The peace and favor of God was all over her. To see her in that horrible traction from the last three days was undescribable. I told everyone, "Our God is so Great!" We are very encouraged.
Granny, Dino, Sherry, and Brady had to go home, but they didn't want to. Jalin had a huge number of visitors this day--60 or so. Can you believe it? She is loved beyond measure!
At the last visiting time at 8:30 Jalin had a new lung tube to draw off the excess fluid. That really deflated us, but they told us it was ok. She just has a lot of fluid build up from the trauma. This helped her blood pressure and heart rate to come down. Through the night she did fine.
Jessica and I watched the video from church Friday night. It was awesome what the Lord did! I can't wait to show Jalin.
Today is Tuesday. This morning Jalin's condition was the same. She looked good and was alert. She even shook her head, "no" when Darryl asked her to play the piano. She thought he meant right now. Our last visit was kind of nervy because Jalin's temp was 102 and her heart was racing faster. The doctor said it was most likely pain and anxiety from her trying to wake up. Please pour your heart out to God again tonight on her behalf. Thank you! I love yall!

Day 6-November 3 (After Surgery)

Jalin has just come out of surgery. The doctor has said that she is a miracle. They went in through her lower back with minor incisions. They put in 4 screws to reattach her pelvis with her tail bone. The doctor said that her vessels, muscles, and tendons have all realigned. This is a miracle in itself. Jalin will have to undergo another surgery in 3 to 7 days. This surgery will be less major and less life threatening. This will realign the front of her pelvis. They also hope to fix her collar bone during this surgery. The doctors hope to remove the ventilator within a few days. She is still in ICU, but will be able to sit up in the bed soon. Her traction has been removed, which is great news. The doctor said she will be in less pain now than she was before. They are not sure how much longer she will be in the hospital, but she is not going to be able to put any weight on her legs for three months. As long as that may seem, there is still so much hope in it. The doctors say Jalin is a great patient and they have full confidence in her. The time limits for her recovery will change depending on her rate of recovery. Thanks so much for praying for Jalin. She still has a long road ahead of her, but the worst is behind her. She and her family will continue to need your prayers and support during her rehabilitation. The Lord truly worked a miracle through Jalin.
**Update 10:00 p.m.
Tonight they had to add another tube in her left lung due to a lot of fluid. Please continue to lift up Jalin and her family. They need your thoughts and prayers. They truly appreciate every prayer, thought, card, and comment.

Day 5-November 2

Well - I hope you all are well.
It has been a trying time for our family since wednesdays trauma- There has been the greatest outpouring of love from literally thousands. Folks have come to rally on behalf of Jalin and my family. For that, I am so deeply grateful! Honestly, with great emotion, I keep waiting to wake up. Life doesn't always go the way you plan it, does it? I told Jalin tonight the way God was moving and how so many were taking time to love one another and to actually care. I shared with her that God has chosen her to be a vessell of His power. She in some Supernatural fashion was aware of her purpose, she understood and with tears blinked at her daddy signifying that she was well aware. Tommorrow is a big day for Jalin. The scheduled time for her pelvic surgery & collarbone is 1:30 central time. The doctors informed us that the surgery could last 4-6 hrs. Please with all your might, pray on behalf of my family, we are all so physically and spiritually drained. Mrs. Lori and Jordan need you to hold them close as well. For that, I am forever thankful for you. Isaiah 43:1-3

I love you!

Day 4-November 1

Today Jalin's heart rate has been up a little. They did on EKG and found that the heart was normal. They speculate that her pain is causing the increased heart rate. They raised her meds. She is much better now, her rates are decreasing. They were able to put in the feeding tube and is being fed by the tube. Her ventilator has been cut back even more today, which means she is breathing a little more on her own. She has developed a sinus infection and they are treating it with antibiotics. Her sweet nurse, Jessie, decorated her room today with everyone's cards and items of love. LOTS of people visited the family in the waiting room today. We have had lots of calls, texts, emails, blog posts, and wall posts. We are overwhelmed and grateful for everyone's outpouring of love.

200 people were saved at Dexter
20 people were saved at Heflin First Baptist

You are stable. You had a CT scan to see why you are bleeding. It is from the pelvis break. It is broken in 2 places on front and 2 places on back. They put you in traction. Then they gave you xrays while me & Granny stood in the hall. You have been given blood and platelets. You will probably have surgery to fix your pelvic bones.

People are writing in your journal and loving you.

Money was given from the school and people who love us!

The Beginning - 10/29/2008

6:30 or 6:40 pm - Jalin was on the way to the Dexter play at Cornerstone. She was with Kaydra, Kristen, Amy L., and Morgan in Kaydra's mom's Tahoe. They flipped the car and landed down a hill in a yard on the right in Trickum Valley (past Blake Bivins).

The car was on Jalin and Bro. Jerome and others lifted it off her and pulled her out. She was taken by ambulance to Tanner. The other girls had minor injuries. CT scans there revealved broken pelvis in two places, broken ribs, collapsed lung, cspine (2 bones). No internal injuries in her stomach.

She was airlifted to UAB around 9:30 - 10:00. When we got there, more CT scans were ran. She has broken pelvis, broken collarbone, ribs 1-2 on both sides broken, collapsed lung. She has a breathing tube, 2 chest tubes, cath in wrist, cath in bladder, tube in her nose going into her stomach, line in her groin, IV's in her arms.

Bless your heart and body and mind Jalin. God has a plan for you and this will be part of your testimony for Him and of His Grace. You look so broken in body, but I know you are strong in spirit. We are here for you each step and God will walk us through this together arm in arm with him!

So many people are here and 100's were at Tanner for you.

You are in room 18 on the 9th floor at UAB in the TBICU.

You are very loved and blessed. You are victorious through our Lord Jesus Christ.

We love you baby!

Marc Merritt prayed with us too. A man testified to Jordan and I that you were going to be ok. Satan meant you harm tonight, but God is greater! He is the great physician that is healing you.

We got to see you two times last night. Once when they took you to TBICU from ER. Then about 6:00 we saw you when you were settled into your ICU room 9515. You are really hurt honey. Your trauma to the pelvis and your lungs are the worst. Probably 30 - 40 people came to UAB Ashleigh and Robbie McManus spent the night.

God is good. All the time.may love and prayers pour from our hearts to God for this precious family as we witness the awesome power of His love, mercy and grace.thank you God that Jalin survived this terrible accident.thank you God for the hundreds of salvations brought about as Your spirit uses these circumstances to remind us that life here in this world is temporary, yet life in You is eternal.thank you God for the many, many rededications of lukewarm hearts as we realize once again our total depedence on You for everything.we are truly helpless but,Thank you God,not hopeless.we pray now that You would wrap Jalin and her family in Your arms of love and give Your peace that passes all understanding.dearGod,we believe, now help us with our unbelief, and may You recieve all the glory, all the honor and all the praise.Thank you God for the wonderful gift of Jesus Christ and Your plan of salvation thru which we learn to love each other with Your heart.help us God to shower your love on this family now as they do us on their daily walk.we love in Jesus name. david lybarger
