The last couple of days of Jalin's Journey have been the most up and down thus far. The doctors have agreed that we can stay in the trauma room with Jalin around the clock. It's kinda hard. They are blown away by the support we have had (More than 400 have come to share our burdens) the Goodies & gifts & support have been overwhelming. There are literally thousands of Churches across our Country and others praying on her behalf. We have hung cards all over her room. The doctors and staff are so blown away. Prayer has been an essential part of her stay, and the most essential for her recovery. Yesterday Morning began well, Jalin was sitting up, eating ice, talking about the accident, the ventilator was off and things were looking up. The Meds that caused her to be confused had worked their way out. It was a calmer day. They had ordered her first liquid broth. Then suddenly around 9Am things began to plunge backwards. Her breathing began to be affected. Her oxygen levels plunged and her BP was sky high. The frantic rush of staff came to her rescue. I was like, My God, My God,- How much more can we take! We ( even the nurses were shocked at the about face). Last Night around 6:30 (after x-rays and ct scan) The doctors met with Lori and I and showed us the x-rays that Jalin's Lung had collapsed further. She was experiencing a panic in breathing. She was fighting hard and not complaining. The plan was 2 fold. A possibilty that they might have to operate using a tiny video camera to go in there and repair scar tissue from the trauma in her lungs. First they wanted to see if they can relase air and such by inserting two top chest tubes. I felt so bad because earlier Jalin said that was the worse thing ever was the tubes. She said the other 3 tubes that were in her caused her to scream for hours. Now she was facing 2 more. How much more can we stand. Bottom line leading to this morning: The plan has worked thus far, Jalin had the greatest night ever- She has been at rest, peace and her vitals are excellent. They washed her hair this morning with her shampoo - a totally differnet person. She still hasn't eaten but maybe that is coming soon. The radiant light of The Lord shines on her. The tubes didn't even hurt. WoW! She still has 4 tubes in her for draining, the x-rays are looking good, The operation is still a possiblity, it depends on what happens today. Today is a greater day. Please continue to pray for my family for strength and endurance. Please pray for Jalin's lungs. She wanted me to tell you that she loved you and takes nothing for granted anymore and will never ever forget your love.

What a testament to the power and mercy of our Lord! I will continue to pray, for the healing of Jalin's lungs especially. Just remember Isaiah 40:31. Waiting is difficult but God does things in his time and if we wait patiently the rewards are great! I know God is healing Jalin at this very minute. God's blessing to you all.

What a blessing it is to hear that Jalin is getting better. I am so glad that the Doctors and the Nurses is working with you and letting yall stay in the room with her. I know Jalin will have a quick recovery with You both in the room to Pray with her, comfort her, and help her understand what is going on. Just keep trusting God and he will grant Jalin a quick recovery. I am praying for yall and will continue to do so because Yall are truely a blessing to me and to many more. I want you to remember this verse for the times that you may think there is nothing you can do. "Luke 18:27 And he said, Things which are impossible with men are possible with God." ReplyDeleteToday's update is awesome!! Please tell Jalin that we are soo proud of her and the way she is fighting through all of this. We admire her determination and strength - talk about a role model. She is very special to us and we love her dearly! I remember the first time she was at our house...she had come home with Amie to make t-shirts for the next day at school. This was before we started attending Freedom. Astin was helping them. They worked for hours trying to get them just right. She talked about the church and her family in such a way that we had to visit. It was through her that we found a new church home. She encouraged me then and she encourages me now...she's grown into a very beautiful, loving, godly young lady that has a wonderful future ahead of her...we love her and her family too!!

It may not happen til you are more recovered and at home and it may not be anything but a fleeting thought. This is perfectly normal. But the answer is one that we as humans will not be able to answer except to say that as long as we live on this earth we are subject to the laws of nature. As Believers we know God is in control. He can take a terrible situation and still use it for His Glory. I see this already happening as I read your blog and the comment of your family and friends. Everything that has been said points us to God and I know that is as it should be. You are learning spiritual lessons way ahead of other folks. God has a plan for your life and I know you already know this. The accident, your pain and the heartache of your family and friends will be your testimony for the rest of your life! I know He has been your strength, I know when you could not say what was on your heart, God was IN your heart. You told me that you KNEW you were suppose to be singing for God, so just keep singing in your heart, you'll soon be back doing His work. Jalin, we love you, and it is such a shame that we don't tell people we love them, until we have almost lost them. The words will have more meaning now, for alot of us. Our church family has been right there for you the whole time, you are going to just be amazed when you look back on this. Not only will you grow through all of this, but so have we. You know I'm not sure just any church could keep moving forward after something like this, but it is proof of a wonderful shepherd, that has led his flock so faithfully, that helped make us strong, that helped make YOU strong. The night it happened i had a dream that we were at this convention thing and we were messing around being funny....And then i woke up!! I tried my hardest to go back to sleep to see your pretty face and to just to know that you were ok!!! But i couldnt so i just sat and cried and cried and cried!!!

Praise GOD for such a great report on Jalin. It was a blessing to see the smiles and hear the words of encouragement at the hospital. I remain in awe of your faith and humility. With everything that you all have been through and continue to go through it was so touching to see the relationships that you have established with the other families in the ICU waiting room. ReplyDeleteWhat a blessing to hear the good news!Our God is an awesome God! I could feel the joy in your heart as you wrote on the blog, I feel that joy with you. I know without a doubt there has been many lives touched and souls saved. Jalin the trial you have had to endure has definately brought great things. You will be such a light to people in days to come by sharing your expierience. No doubt God has a job for you and I know you will fulfill it wonderfully. Jordon and Jessica I know this has been hard on you as well, and it was a blessing to see two young people as yourself step up and take the responsibility you took to be there for your parents and Jessica you for your boyfriends family. I knew you were great kids but this has truly proved it to me.You have been more of a help than I am sure you realize creating the blog has been a blessing and I know Jalin will thank you for it when she is able. My prayers and thoughts have been with you all from day one. We hope to get to see you soon. We love you all. Keep fighting Jalin you are on the upward now! Praise God for his great healing hand and mercy without him we would be in a mess. God bless you all.
